Large Water Tower

Based on the Crewkerne platform mounted water tower built in about 1859 and still extant today, albeit a pitched roof has replaced the tank. Similar styled tanks (some with a roof) on different tower building architecture existed at other stations along the Waterloo-Exeter railway line including Salisbury, Axminster and Honiton.

The brick style and colouration is simulated ham stone ashlar and BR(S) building green and cream paintwork. Designs are also supplied to make the ball cock valve and water level gauge. The ladder is not supplied with the card kit.

Build skill level: ADVANCED (See Welcome Page for definition) .
Rated ADVANCED because of intricate window frame cutting, and tank assembly.

  • 3 x 750 micron (0.75 mm) A4 Grey Board
  • 6 x A4 Sticky Backed Paper for Ink Jet or Laser Printers
  • 1 x 99 mm x 210 mm x 250 micron (0.25 mm) Transparent Plastic
  • 260 mm x 0.2 mm diameter wire.

You still need to print the papers yourself and source adhesives.
